Qalam Helper
A Chrome extension that tells you how many classes you can still skip
The problem
Qalam shows your attendance as a raw percentage and your grade as a raw number. Neither tells you the only thing you actually want to know, which is how much rope you have left.
What I built
Scrapes the attendance and grade tables out of the Qalam pages, then works backwards from the institution's XF thresholds to get a number of skippable classes per course. A second view plots your grade against the class average so you can see which courses are actually going badly. Everything is parsed and computed in the page, so nothing about your academic record leaves the browser.
What I’d tell past me
Six GitHub stars and a Chrome Web Store listing for something that took an evening. Small tools that solve your own annoyance find their own audience.
